Children In Need Concert and Set Visit

By Anneke

What a spectacular night for Doctor Who! The Millennium centre in Cardiff was literally buzzing with excited children, parents and fans. When the 52 piece orchestra finished its opening number (Rose) and David Tennant ran onto the stage the whole audience erupted with joy. We watched brilliant excerpts from from the show - including a stunning preview of "The Runaway Bride", we had monsters, a Q & A session with David Tennant, Russell T Davies and Murray Gold, a choir, and we raised £52,000 for Children in Need!

The next day I was invited to visit the production offices and got to meet all the geniuses who work behind the scenes to make the show what it is. We also met the lovely Jane Tranter, who was responsible for bringing Doctor Who back in 2005, and the young lady who won Totally Doctor Who's Companion Academy. Exploring the incredible Torchwood set was creepy, and I have to say, the Tardis has got a lot bigger since I last saw it! Later we went to the filming location - I met James Hawes, Phil Collinson, and of course the marvellous David Tennant, who I loved instantly, just as I had Pat Troughton 40 years ago.

What a treat it was for me - I'm still glowing from an incredible two days.
